The Foundation was born out of the vision of our director, Ramatu Karim Sesay, with support from volunteers in Sierra Leone and the UK. The Ramatu Foundation supports local girls in Makeni City, Sierra Leone, to obtain high levels of education through providing books, stationary, food, sanitary products and stipends. The Foundation also campaigns against key issues such as FGM, early marriage and gender-based violence on a local and national level.
